send it to a garage???????
If you are afraid of breaking something take it to a garage.
nIGHTMARE JOB AM AFRAID MATE. All front end off and timing belt, garage quoted 4 hrs labour and alternator was £270
best answer: don't, just replace the alternator. this is something that must be done on a press using a special jig to clamp the parts on. not something the regular garage mechanic has access to. the effort and expense to do this is equal or greater than replacement of the alternator. only reason to do it is if the part is no longer available.
In CT USA, a garage would charge 1 hour labor to replace the rear brake pads on that Mountaineer.
50 batteries?? Are you running a competition grade sound system?? Here's my two cents. Chances are, you alternator was designed to charge a single battery. Making it charge 50 at once will likely kill the alternator. However, if you don't hook up your extra batteries to the alternator, they obviously won't get charged. If you will be remotely charging the batteries, (say at home in the garage) then I guess that won't be a problem. But if you do want to charge them while the car is running you'll probably have to set up a special charging rig, or at least a much stronger alternator.
Hyundai accent i have one in my garage I rode Toyota before.....its a garbage
a garage is probably going to charge you 2 hours of labor plus the parts
How much can a garage charge for storage after they finish repairs? in san bernardino county
yes your battery may be duff, however it would be worth getting your charge rate checked by a garage as the problem can also mean an alternator problem
You may want to look at your alternator as the cause. Good luck Your problem could be the alternator or alternator belt. Check belt first for wear or slippage, then check the alternator. NOTE: DO NOT disconnect the battery while the engine is running to test the alternator. In years past you could get away with this, but with modern cars, more sensitive electronics, etc., disconnecting the load (battery) from the alternator causes voltage spikes which WILL damage electronics and burn out headlights. You can turn a simple ~$100 repair into a major repair, $1000 or more, by doing this. If you don't know how to test an alternator, or if you don't have the proper equipment to do so, have the alternator tested at your local garage. They'll do this for a nominal fee, and will apply it to the repair charge if the alternator is bad and you decide to have them replace it.
Just had one replaced. It cost $600.00. Most of that was for labor because it is located on the bottom side of the engine and you have to remove all kinds of parts just to get to it. I think the alternator itself was under $200.00
