A new set of head gaskets costs about $40. You'll also need some Loc-Tite, some black RTV sealant, enough coolant and water to refill your cooling system, a new thermostat and gasket. And then all the tools and torque specs. A DIY-er with some skills working by himself could probably knock out the job on both heads and have it running again over a weekend. Do it yourself. Learn something.
