Where does the transmission fluid go in a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass Are there a picture of where it goes?
What causes a gear meshing whine sound over 30mph that varies in pitch with speed not RPM in a 96 Oldsmobile Ciera?
to my knowledge the speed sensor is just for reading the speed of the vehicle alone...bands and fluid are primary reasons for a transmission to not shift properly. if the fluid is old and worn down or there is not enough fluid in the transmission it will not shift properly and if the bands are worn from high mileage or any other reason it could mean needing a rebuild to replace them.
Believe it or not, you add transmission fluid into the same tume that you use to check the transmission fluid. Just a reminder, before you add transmission fluid, make sure you check the level properly. Vehicle must be level, warmed up, and running. Also make sure you put the transmission through all of the gears before checking it.
What would make an automatic 94 Olds Ciera LS only run in reverse and barely run in the lowest drive gear?
Use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1 transmission fluid. Do not use any other fluid no matter what anyone tells you is a substitute. There is no substitute for this fluid and the use of any other fluid will cause your Honda transmission to not shift properly. If you have a manual transmission, contact a Honda dealer for the correct lube or read your owners manual.
I have an '89 Olds Cutlass Ciera, 2.8l rebuilt v6 with about 155,000 miles on it that recently started making a noise I can't identify. It sounds like a wheel rubbing against the wheel well but it seems to come from the transmission area and feels like it's located under the gas pedal or thereabout. It appears to be unrelated to engine speed as it happens in up to 2 second long bursts intermittently while…
If there is a real need to change the transmission fluid, one simply unscrews the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. If there is a need to do this, it is strongly suggested that one drop the transmission pan and change the filter also. Always catch the old fluid in an approved container and dispose of properly.
