Well it really depends on how they diet. If they go on a fast, they may lose 5 or 6 lbs a week, so just times that by four. It varies with people, you know? Some peoples bodies will lose weight faster than others.
They can be bulimic but not anorexic. Actually, a person can certainly be mentally anorexic regardless of their weight. I believe that weight or BMI should not be so important when diagnosing anorexia. Anyone can be psychologically anorexic.
Anorexia is not plain looks. To be anorexic is to not be in control of your own actions towards food. You restrict and do not care what it does to you, because all you care about is control and not gettting fat. If you are like that, and 25 pounds underweight, then you are considered anorexic. If you are just 25 pounds underweight, you are unhealthy, but not anorexic or diseased.
Anorexia and bulimia are very serious eating disorders. People who are anorexic or bulimic can lose as much or as little weight possible. Some people can be 10 pounds underweight, some can be 40 pounds underweight. If you know someone who is anorexic or bulimic tell them that you are worried about them and strongly encourage them to get professional help.
Here are some examples... "Her anorexia was getting really severe... she was barely even 70 pounds!" "By not eating any lunch and always working out, rumors began that she was becoming anorexic." "Did you hear the new rehab center for eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia just opened last month to help teens?"
your twelve dont be so stupid! why would you want to be anorexic ?! if u want to lose weight do it sensibly. eat healthy and exercise! anorexia is a psychological disease. if your mom found out she would be awfully disapointed. dont put her through that. dont be silly. you dont need to be anorexic
like 60 pounds
No. People are all shapes and sizes and you don't need to worry what you look like, life's for living not for worrying about your weight. There's over 7million in this world, and your gonna let 1 person bring you down? Be happy in yourself(:
look people with this disorder suffer of organ failure, and lack the fat and essential vitamins they need. you might blackout. how do i know? I had had anorexia before and i hated having it. i used to weight 160 pounds but i thought i was super duper fat. so fat i went the whole day without eating, just drinking water. i did that for a long time and i weigh 95 pounds after. Right now i weigh 110 pounds, and still recovering. I am 16 years old, and no one should think about becoming anorexic!
It depends on the individual. Some anorexics only lose a few pounds, while some may lose 50 pounds. Usually, the average person who is anorexic will lose 20 to 30 pounds before treatment or intervention occurs.
Yes.
The term anorexia actually refers to the decreased sensation of apetite. If by "anorexia" you mean anorexia nervosa(the eating disorder)... Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by extremely low body weight and body image distortion with an obsessive fear of gaining weight. It is most common in teenage girls but can occur in men and women of all ages. While in order to technically be considered anorexic you must be at least 15% below normal body weight according to your BMI, not everyone suffering from anorexia nervosa is even underweight. Anorexics typically restrict the calories they ingest to dangerously low levels in order to lose weight. No matter how skinny, the sufferer will see him/herself as fat and insist on losing "just a few more pounds." They tend to set extremely low 'ideal body weights' and work tirelessy towards achieving them. Anorexia can cause many problems to manifest in the sufferer, such as depression, tacycardia, stunted growth, malnutrition, reduced immune system function, headaches, dizzyness, fainting, hallucinations, fatigue, mood swings, and thoughts of suicide and much more. There is no general cause of anorexia, though the specific causes tend to range among sufferers. It's a dangerous illness and doesn't just affect teenage ballerina's who are terrified of being fat when they weigh 90 lbs. Anorexia can affect anyone and is a mental illness, not a life choice. One thing I can say is never judge someone because of this and never treat them differently, because being anorexic doesn't make someone crazy. It usually signifies a need for the perfection and control that a person's life is lacking. Understanding is key.
Anorexia occurs when you feel insecure & unsatified with your body when its perfectly fine. Your mirror makes you feel that, you stop eating little by little. i was anorexic too, i was only 12 & i was a little chubby and i wanted to be skinny cause guys in my school would make fun of me so i lost 30 pounds in 3 months by starving dinner first, then lunch. I only at a little breakfast! never do it! i regret it, my boobs didint grow & my butt didnt grow and i was a stick and i rather have curves. You also faint & get dizzy and you dont know who you are anymore and you have schedules of what your gonna eat for the future, i planned mine untill college);
