Much bigger population from which to recruit armies.
No, it is not, although some MOS have an AIT in which you receive some college credit for completion. @BurningSaviour Do you learn as much?
Retirement from the Roman army was not a matter of age, it was a matter of service. When a man's enlistment time was up he could either reenlist or retire. There was no actual age limit for reenlistment either. There is a record of a centurion who had retired, missed the army so much that he reenlisted and was still serving at the age of 80!
Simply, they had a much bigger population to recruit from. In the final year of the war, it became the main factor in the situation. Grant ended prisoner-exchange, knowing that the Confederates would not be able to replace their losses, and simply battered away at the Confederate lines till they grew too thin to hold.
That depends which army he's in and what specialities he has.
We currently have an all volunteer military force and have had one for more than 35 years.

I always wondered how Davidson College was Division 1 also. The only reason I know is because I played college ball. The reason they are Division 1 is because they go by how much money the college gives to recruit people. They dont go by how big the school is. There could be a school that has 500 kids or less be D-1 just cause of all the recruiting they send out. In High School is goes by how many kids you have in the school. College goes by how much they give recruiting, I hope this helped, and made sense. Thanks a lot
The U.S. Army no longer sponsors Ryan Newman. They left Nascar following the 2012 season.
The official term for a Enlisted Navy Recruit is "Seaman Recruit". For Officers attending the Naval Academy, they are know as "Midshipmen". ---- clown, recruit, seaman, idiot, screw up. pretty much watch full metal jacket and write down every name you hear

Some of the best advice to give your child heading off to college for the first time is to have fun, but not too much, study hard and never be afraid to call home.
