It depends on the price of the Resistor Pack and how hard it is to get to. Some are fairly easy to replace and some are difficult. It is a simple repair once you find the resistor pack. I would suspect a minimum of $150.
No such part on a 1998 Stratus.
You bring it to a mechanic..
The resistor block is bad
Under the dash, on the passenger side.
The Blower resistor should be tested which is located near the blower motor, the resistor is probably faulty.
It is your blower motor resistor. It is about a $20 part and you can put it in yourself if you are handy. If not, a mechanic will put it in for $25-$50. I have had this happen several times to my stratus.
You need a scan tool to reset light after repairing the code.
i think it probably because the motor has a ground problem or it has bad brushes and is is drawing to much energy for the resistor
Have a mechanic do it. Air bags are nasty!
a mechanic said you cant lubricate a 96 stratus there are no grease fittings The only grease zerks are on the upper ball joints.
On my 96 Stratus ES it is between the gas tank and frame. My mechanic said he had to lower the tank a little to change it. Hope this helps.
you go to a mechanic, because this is probably the best advice you will get on the web.
