Are there any cheap oil heating companies?
I am very sorry to say there are no "cheap" oil heating companies. Heating oil prices go according to the barrel prices and have been rising steadily. I would recommend using a wood stove or pellet stove to save on heating bills.

Should you turn off central heat when heating house with wood stove?
You don't have to turn off the central heating when you use the wood stove; however, it would be prudent to turn the thermostat down to about 60 degrees f but not under 50f, to back up your wood stove when the stove runs out of wood at 4 in the morning.

If it is the oven it is likely the heating element. It would test open with and Ohm meter with the stove unplugged.

How does heat get from the stove burner into the soup?
If the soup is already cook and you just want to heat it on a stove, first put the soup in a cookware, put it in a stove then turn on the stove into medium heat and it is ok if you don't put the cover of the cookware anymore to avoid spillover or spillage. If boiled then you're done. Don't forget to turnoff the stove together with the gastank.
