I'd say it depends on whether it's the cluster parts in the dash, the wiring, or the sensor itself. The sensor is usually on the fuel pump inside the gas tank. That might be the most expensive. Also, instead of isolating problem parts, some shops will just replace everything. Bottom line, you're talking a few hours of labor most likely, plus parts. Don't expect it to be cheap.

The EGR Valve on a 1999 Pontiac Firebird is located just to the left of the engine oil dipstick. There's nothing in the way so it's pretty easy to get to and replace. Hope this helps! -Erin

The 99 Pontiac Bonneville, Firebird and Grand Prix came with the 3.8 engine. The Sunfire came with the 2.2 or the 2.4. The Montana came with the 3.4. The Grand Am came with the 2.4 or the 3.4. The Firebird Trans Am and the Firebird Formula, the 5.7. Only the Grand Prix SE came with the 3.1.
