A radar gun measures speed of a moving object basically cops use them
Nope! totally sucks too. However you can buy a stealth radar detector such as the Beltronics STI, which is not susceptible to radar detector detectors (RDD's). Cops in VA are equipped with RDD's to give tickets to those using them.
Cops equipped with "Acceleration detectors"
Cops are required to state your Miranda rights.
I've seen everything from mail jeeps, to telephone and power company trucks, to ice cream vending vehicles used as radar sites as well as officers shooting from concealment on overpasses. Unless your state/jurisdiction happens to have some kind of quirky law on this subject, they aren't required to be visible.
Cops hide to give out tickets and so the town collects money. How many tickets would they write if they were sitting in plain view? I thought cops were supposed to serve and protect.....LOL yeah, right. Cops think they can do whatever they want and get away with it...and they can IF we citizens let them. Stand up for what is lawful and moral. They are too many rogue arrogant cops doing getting away with evil acts.
yes
Not a good excuse, in the state of Georgia officer must ask if you want him to check to make sure radar is operating correctly. he does not have to let you see it.Added: In many(all?) states the officer, as part of his prosecution testimony in court must be able to display the calibration records and certification of the equipment he used to time your speed. These records must be maintained scrupulously and be kept up to date in accordance with that state's traffic laws.

Out run cops and you will be fine
Traffic "Cops" use FMCW radar, as they can be very low power and work off batteries. LADAR is also used and this makes the beam much narrower as the wavelength is higher, it should be more accurate but is more likely to suffer from atmospherics. Yes, for speed metering. Radar can be detected by consume hardware, which is illegal in many states. Most police forces have moved to laser because it is more accurate, is difficult for a speeder to contest in court, and is almost impossible to detect until it's too late.
Not to sound blunt, but I would recommend not speeding to begin with. Don't speed? Slow down. Do it when the cops aren't around or you can also get a radar detector.
