i am aleesha.n from India,kerala,thrissur.and i am christian.....as much as i know..{in my church}.........there are almost 8 to 10 masses a day.....

Roman Catholic AnswerNormally every priest would say one Mass a day, more if it is necessary. For a priest to say two Masses in a day is known as bination and is only permitted if the needs of the faithful require it or some other special need arises (for instance, a normally scheduled weekday Mass, and another later in the day for a funeral or a wedding). Bination was practically unheard of when I was younger, and I can remember my pastor having to call the local monastery to get a priest if a second Mass had to be said. These days, with the priest shortage, trination (saying three Masses in a day) may no longer require special permission from a bishop. I have know priests who have been required to say more then 3 Masses on a Sunday for the good of the faithful due to lack of priests.

Many large parishes have many Masses scheduled on Sunday and Saturday evening so that all the faithful can fulfill their Sunday obligation (it being a mortal sin to miss hearing Mass on Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation).

Normally a priest would say one Mass on a weekday, and as many Masses as necessary to accompidate all the faithful on a Sat evening/Sunday.

I think the "requirement" is once on Sunday, but anything after 5pm on Saturday "counts". But then again... what the RCC tells you to do doesn't have much merit when their "command" doesn't have any scriptural basis, now does it?

Catholics are obligated to attend Mass on all holy days of obligation. The exact list depends on the country. For the universal Church, the Holy Days of Obligation are all Sundays of the year, plus:

January 1 Mary, Mother of God

January 6 Epiphany

March 19 St. Joseph

Ascension (40 days after Easter)

Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) (Thursday after Trinity Sunday)

Sts. Peter & Paul June 29

Assumption August 15

All Saints November 1

Immaculate Conception December 8

Christmas December 25

For the United States.

The Solemnity of Mary

Ascension

Assumption

All Saints

Immaculate Conception

Christmas

In addition, Catholics are required to attend Mass weekly, typically on Saturday evening or Sunday.

That depends on the part of the world you live in. In the US, about 1 in 4 Catholics attend Mass regularly; in some places 1 in 3 and in others, like the Northeast, it is 1 in 6. By way of comparison, 50 years ago it was 2 in 3 average attendance.

Should I attend the rosary or the Mass for our neighbor's daughter I am not Catholic?

There is no reason why you should not attend. Non-Catholics can attend Catholic events. Personally, I would recommend that you attend, the Mass would be the Catholic equivalent of the funeral, and the Rosary would be the equivalent of the viewing.

What is the difference between the old and the new Catholic?

By this question, I assume that you are referring to the "Old" Catholics as those who attend the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (The Latin Mass) and the "New" Catholics as those who attend the Ordinary form of the Mass (Mass in the vernacular). The difference is nil, as both are Catholics in communion with Rome and Celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist in different ways. The link below has a more extensive listing of the difference should you want to know more.
