I have a soft coated wheaten terrier (terror - lol), he is 7 years old. on average his hair grows at the same rate as human hair grows. only his hair gets very puffy as it grows making him look like he gained 10 lbs.i groom him approximately every 5-8 weeks, he really should be groomed more often. however, as i personally like a designer cut, i do it myself. By keeping his body cut short and sleek, (similar to a schnauzer cut) he is easier to keep clean and with less brushing as they tend to mat more heavily in the fall and spring.with trimming every 6 weeks and brushing every week - he looks great!
