The Chicxsuklub crater is some 65 million years old; it is believed to be the place where the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs fell.
The Chicxulub Crater is located near the city Chicxulub in Mexico. This crater is approximately 66 million years old and discovered by Antonio Camago and Glenn Penfield in the late 1970's.
The Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona was formed about 50,000 years ago.
We have a thick gaseous atmosphere that tends to burn up most meteors as they fall through it, The occasional large one that makes it to the ground and creates a crater has the crater eroded away by the action of weather over a period of time. Only the newest craters (like Meteor Crater in Arizona, about 40,000 years old) are still visible.
This is the strongest cause for how the mass extinction of all life 60 million years ago occured, but is still just a theory rivaled by the possibility of tsunamis, masive earthquakes caused by volcanic activity which might also have influenced climate change by a cooldown caused by ash blocking out solar radiation causing plants to die in turn killing herbivores and so on or super heating the athsmosphere to the point where most animals couldn't survive it anymore except for the most adaptable. Either way these are still just theorys that could even happen to us. "The strongest survive"
70 years old
The Chicxulub crater is the area in the state of Yucatan that was hit by an asteroid. It is about 66 million years old.
The Yucatan peninsula is shared among the countries: Mexico, Guatemala and Belize. Most of its territory belongs to Mexico; within the peninsula's Mexican territory, it is subdivided among three federal states: Quintana Roo (capital: Chetumal), Yucatan (capital: Merida) and Campeche (capital: Campeche).
Greater Mexico City, Central Interior, Oil Coast, Southern Mexico, Northern Mexico, and The Yucatan are culture regions of Mexico.i hope this helped!

the channel which lies betwwen abaco and eleuthera is called
There are signs of a massive - ENORMOUS! - meteor crater in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Mexico at a place called Chicxulub, at the northern tip of the Yucatan peninsula. It is about 65 million years old. All the dinosaurs died off about 65 million years ago. So did 85% of all life on Earth. Could there be a connection? About 30 years ago, the scientist Luis Alvarez thought that the at-that-time accepted theories of what might have killed off the dinosaurs - a plague, a new predator, volcanoes - were too simplistic. Alvarez theorized that a cosmic impact might have played a factor. He was widely ridiculed for years, but his explanation is now widely accepted as correct.
Pokemon crater will be back sometime in June yay!!!
Its a filled (with water) old volcano crater - hence the name.
The greater the crater density, the older the surface must be old.
do you know how old is the delmarva peninsula
Prof Gerta Keller of Princeton and Prof Wolfgang Stinnesbeck of the University of Karlsruhe begged to differ. They uncovered a series of geological clues which suggests the truth may be far more complicated. In short, that the crater in the Yucatan is too old to have killed off the dinosaurs.
