51 or 16 years of age
In Connecticut, there is no specific legal age requirement to babysit. However, it is recommended that babysitters be at least 12 years old and have the maturity and responsibility to care for children.
12!
depends how responsible the child is... etc... no younger then 13 is a good rule of thumb.
You should call 911 immediately but keep in mind that you only have about 4 minutes to get blood moving in the child's body before brain damage is a strong possibility. If you found the child unresponsive and not breathing and are alone, give 2 minutes of care before making the call to 911.
In Canada it is okay to have your twelve year old at home alone, no younger than that.
At least 8. You shouldn't leave a child alone with a hamster, so always supervise them.
well maybe 14 or 15
That is correct.
From a risk standpoint an ADHD intellectually handicapped 11 year old should not be left at home alone unless the care-professionals are sure he or she is competent. It is unlikely this child would be safe to be left alone. Remember that regardless of what age the law may specifify, they will also evaluate the child's mental capacity, should anything happen while the child is alone. So make sure the child -- any child -- can handle an emergency before ever leaving them alone.
no
Laws regarding leaving a child home alone vary by location, but in many places, there is no specific age at which a child can be left alone. Parents are expected to use their judgment based on the child's maturity and ability to handle emergencies. It is important to check local laws and guidelines to ensure compliance.
Don't leave young kids alone in Kentucky. A child should not be left home alone in Kentucky until they are 11 years of age. There is no law per se, but I work in the child welfare arena and if your child is younger than this and being left alone child protective services will take a report and investigate a child left alone younger than 11. There still may be a report if a child is older than 11 and they are left for long periods of time. It's also not a good idea to let children younger than 13 babysit for younger children. I work for Child Protective Services in Louisville KY, and we investigate cases of children under the age of eight when they are left alone. Children above that age can be left alone for a couple of hours and we look at the maturity level of the children up to 12 years of age. There is no law in KY that addresses this issue.
