She flew back to the United Kingdom from Kenya, aborting a Commonwealth Tour that was to have taken her and the Duke of Edinburgh on to Australia. On her descent from the plane on British soil, she offered her hand to the then Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who was waiting to greet her, along with other ministers of State. Her father became King when his brother abdicated to marry Mrs Simpson, she was the eldest child and she didn't have a brother so when her father died she became Queen.
