How soon after giving birth do you get your figure back?

It all depends on choices you make. I have had 3 kids so i am giving you my own experience. First depends on the contraceptive you take and whether you gain weight on pills. If you do, dont go for pills (after the 6 week check up) ask your doctor for alternatives. Second, you have to watch what you eat. I assume you are at home resting and with breastfeeding, the appetite just increases. Drink lots of water and keep off fried foods. For me i found eating lots of fruits for snacks helped a lot coz i would not get too hungry and be tempted to snack. Third, exercise but go easy on that at least first 6 months. What helped is to go for brisk walks for 20-30 minutes at least 3 times a week.. Its not that easy with a new born who has erratic waking up times, but you can put him in a pram and walk. It does the both of you good anyway. The other trick i learnt (but too late) is put on music and just dance for at least 20-30 minutes. This is easy and convenient. Lastly, congrats for your baby i assume you had one, take it easy with yourself. Baby and you comes first.
