For one the design. The original xbox was big, bolky and not very nice. The Xbox 360 is smaller, looks way nicer and is able to stand 2 ways.
The biggest change is the graphics and technology. The xbox was good graphics but was getting rather outdated. The xbox 360 shown all gamers how graphics and gameplay should be. The graphics on the xbox 360 are the best around at the moment, really though, its getting more out of date. Let me example; Crysis 2 for xbox 360, a brill game, amazing graphics and all. But the real inside of the graphics of that game was decreased sooo much. The frame rate was dropped to 30, not 60 and over things had to be modded. If there was a new console out next year, crysis 2 would beat it with amazing quality.
