That would all depend on the construction and type of generator.
A simple DC generator may use permanent magnets for the field. In this case, because the coils pass the field in the opposite direction, the output will be opposite.
If the field windings are excited by an external source, the output can be controlled either way.

What happens if the direction of current at the terminals of a series motor is reversed?

No changes will occur by wiring a 110 volt motor in reverse polarity, rotation will always be the same. Some single phase motors are designed to be reversed ,but that is a function of the relationship of start windings and capacitors and requires some wiring changes in a motor junction box or an end terminal housing, not by just changing the incoming power.

Can you get -5Volts as output when polarity is reversed?

yes.you can get 5v output even when the polarity is reversed. In a 5v battery, if u reverse the polarity, then u'll get the same 5v as output , but in the opposite direction.(i.e.,)-5v(negative 5 volt

What is reverse power of generator?

It is wise to start thinking of power in DC circuit. If a load is connected to a power source in a DC circuit, the corresponding VOLT CURRENT plot both will be in the positive quadrant. Of course, polarity must be correct. Now if the CURRENT (in the same polarity arrangement) happens to be in the negative quadrant, the power is said to be reversed. The same can be thought in an AC circuit. Taking a half wave cycle of both VOLT and CURRENT, one can apply the same understanding as in the DC circuit. If the AC circuit is capacitive or inductive, VOLT and CURRENT waves will be shifted according to the value of the capacitive or inductive load, and here one has to be aware. How do you check proper rotation on emergency generator without phase rotation meter?

Use a small three phase motor to see if it rotates in the same direction as connected to the mains.

What is the firing order for a marine GM 350 with reverse rotation?

Start with number 1 cylinder in the same place as a standard rotation motor, then use the same firing order as the standard, but in a counterclockwise pattern. Just did this on mine and it works !!

Does a John Deere B have reverse polarity?

I own a 1948 John Deere B so I know for a fact that B's serial number 201000 and up have positive ground. Don't reverse the polarity cause it'll fry the generator and possibly the starter (the starter might even turn backwards - not sure cause I've always been sure to connect the batter with positive ground). The older B's should most likely be the same as 201000 and up. My dad told me that a lot of old vehicles from the 40's had positive ground. Not sure why though.

What does the generator in a nuclear power plant do?

The generator in a nuclear power plant converts the mechanical energy from the steam turbine into electrical energy through electromagnetic induction. The rotation of the turbine spins the generator's rotor within a stationary magnetic field, generating electricity that can be distributed to power grids for use.

Do they make a reverse flow water pump for a Chevy?

Yes and no. Yes: If you have a reverse flow engine which would be an LTI or L99 which were found in big Chevies, Buicks, Corvettes and Camaros, Then you need a reverse FLOW pump. It is driven by a shaft from the timing gear, so does not have a pulley on it at all. It does not match up with a non-LT-1 block. No: If your water pump has a pulley it can be either standard rotation or REVERSE rotation. If it is driven by a V-belt it is standard rotation. If it is driven by the back side of a serpentine belt then it is REVERSE ROTATION. This pump will have a pulley that is smooth and wider than a V-belt. These pumps will physically bolt up to the same block but the REVERSE Rotation spins counter-clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. My '93 Suburban has a Reverse Rotation pump because it has one serpentine belt running all the accessories. When I put a new Edelbrock pump on it I made sure to get a Reverse Rotation pump. Your auto parts store genius should be able to get the right pump for you if you know the make and model year.

When a rolling yoyo falls to the bottom of its cord does it reverse rotation as it climbs back up the cord?

Yes, when a rolling yoyo reaches the bottom of its cord and starts climbing back up, it needs to reverse its rotation in order to move in the opposite direction. This reversal of rotation allows the yoyo to unwind as it descends and wind back up as it ascends.

How can you tell if a water pump is reverse rotation?

the pulley will sit on the top (or smooth) side of the belt, so it spins the opposite direction of everything else that runs off the belt. in the case of my vehicle, a 1998 Pontiac grand prix 3.1 L V-6, this is the standard rotation. i had the same question when i was pricing water pumps, and only 1 that i found specifically said reverse rotation. i called the parts store to check, and they said that all the pumps for my vehicle are reverse rotation, even if the part description doesn't specifically state that.

Why does the synchroscope need to be rotating clockwise if it is turning slowly counterclockwise won't that work the same?

because the incoming generator has be connected as a source and not a load to the grid. if the frequency of the incoming generator is lower than the grid frequency then ... it will behave as a motor drawing power from the grid and generator will trip in reverse power protection.
