Easier than it sounds. Start with the 4 fasteners in the scuff pad on the top of the bumper.
Use a screwdriver or whatever to pry up the centre part of the fastener. It's just a pin, or call it a plug, that expands the bottom of the fastener to tighten it in the hole. When the pin is up about 3/8 of an inch the rest of the fastener should pry out easily. If not, pull the pin completly out.
Four more in the underside of the bumper, plus six in the wheelwells. When they are all out jiggle the bumper from both sides, then pull it straight back.
See, I told you it was easy.
what other year mitsubishi galant rear bumper cover is compatable with a 2001 cover?
Bumper cover or fascia.

Very carefuly.
It's behind the rear bumper on the left side or drivers side. You have to pull the bumper cover off in order to get to it.
On a Saturn there are metal clips that hold the bumper to the fender. One of these fell off of my 2001 SL1. It was fairly easy to replace, but should never have happened. It just simply clips in place once you line the bumper with the fender. I think these clips are in place all the way around the bumper. It was the passenger's side of mine that came off.
== == == == you don't it's molded int to the bumper.
