If you are not a service person and you have to ask, best to take it to the dealer and let them handle it. Sorry but you know that's true.
How terrible of an answer. I am an absolute do-it-yourselfer. I never thought I could change the brakes on my last truck. My brother told me to get a service manual and he knew I could do it, told me what tool to buy and I did all he said. A female at 24/25 years of age, I changed my brakes and it was very painless and surprisingly easy. I've even changed my belt. That was on a Chevy, now own a Toyota Tundra. Can change my front brakes and now going to buy a manual and change my belts. Forget service department that charges $300 plus, belts are no more than 25-30, manual 20=about $75-80 since I have 2 belts. That's more of my price. And people CAN do it.
