An 8 bit displacement is a two's complement signed value, with a possible range of -128 to +127. To convert it to an 16 bit displacement, sign extension is done. This means that the implied high byte is FFH if the high bit of the low byte is 1, or 00H if not. The resulting 16 bit displacement will still have a range of -128 to +127.

What fossil used to compare the relative ages of fossils?

An index fossil. An index fossil's age is known, allowing scientists to know the relative age of other fossils based on their position relative to the index fossil. (Ex. If a fossil is deeper in the earth, it is older than the index fossil)

What does relative refractive index tells?

The relative refractive index tells the speed of light in a vaccum over the speed of light in medium.

Why the array is starting from zero?

By design; it makes the compiler's work easier. 1-based array's addressing-function: Address (array, index) = Address (array) + (index-1)*Elemsize(array) 0-based array's addressing-function: Address (array, index) = Address (array) + index*Elemsize (array)

What is index sequential and relative files?

Index sequential files store records in sequential order and use an index to quickly locate specific records. Relative files store records based on their physical position in the file, allowing for direct access to records using their relative position within the file.
