You need to use a fuel line disconnector.
See a specialist. System needs to be purged, leak checked & Recharged.....
Remove the freon from the system. Disconnect the compressor belt, then remove the lines. Unbolt the compressor and remove it. Install the new compressor, connect the lines and belt. Pull a system vacuum, then fill with new freon.
The ac compressor may be on its way out and binding. Disconnect it before it fills the ac system with trash.
You need to be certified to purge the system. Taking the compressor off is simple but you have to remove the refrigerant first. WA can't tell you to do illegal things so I can't tell you to disconnect the lines after you have vented the refrigerant to atmosphere. I can tell you to be sure to wear safety glasses when you do it because it can frostbite your eyeballs.
Remove the freon from the system. Remove the ac compressor belt and disconnect the lines. Unbolt the compressor, remove it, then bolt the new one in place. Reconnect the lines and belt. Pull a vacuum on the system then refill with freon.
There will be a sticker somewhere in the engine compartment that tells you how much to add. It is usually 8 oz with no other oil in the system. Be careful to ensure that your system is purged prior to reinserting. I added too much to my truck and now have to have the system purged to get the system balanced out. AC systems work on a very exacting amount of oil to freon ratio. Too much oil of not enough is not good for the system. Too much oil and the freon does not flash from a gas to a liquid properly, not enough oil and the compressor lifespan is shortened.
* Have the air conditioning system discharged * Disconnect the negative battery cable * Set the parking brake, block the rear tires and raise the front of the car and support is securely on jackstands and remove the splash cover from below the engine * Remove the drivebelt * Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the compressor.Plug the open fittings to prevent entry of dirt and moisture * Disconnect the compressor clutch wiring harness.Unbolt the compressor from the mounting bracket and remove it from the car.NOTE:The upper mounting bolts may not come all the way out of the compressor-leave them in the compressor until it is removed from the car
The contactor on the outdoor unit is probably stuck. Disconnect the power to the indoor unit, then disconnect the power to the outdoor unit and take a look at the contactor.
Remove the freon from the 91 Buick Regal with a reclaim machine. Remove the compressor belts and disconnect the lines. Unbolt and remove the compressor. Bolt in the new compressor, and connect the lines. Put the belt back on. Pull a system wide vacuum, then fill with new freon.
Reclaim the freon from the 1987 Fiero. Remove the ac belt, then disconnect the lines from the compressor. Unbolt the compressor then bolt in the new one. Put the hoses and belt back on, then pull a vacuum on the system before filling with new freon.
You don't need to engage the compressor clutch to recharge the system. In fact, you shouldn't engage it without refrigerant and oil in it, because the refrigerant carries the compressor oil in order to lubricate the compressor. But, to answer your question, you disconnect the low pressure switch, and run a jumper wire between the two female ends of the connector.
