I had a problem with my 97 deville air ride and the fuse in the trunk labeled RSS was missing so I replaced it and the shocks started working.
if i was to fix suspension by adding shocks, i would use air shocks to compensate for the air ride
The best way to fix this is to diagnose the system and replace the bad parts or you can put the aftermarket spring kit on the car... The spring kit's about $500 and new airbags can be had from ebay for about $80 a bag, or you can get everything to fix the air ride system (4 air bags with the valves, air compressor with a new dryer) for $500... I would fix the air ride if I was you because of the comfortable ride, beats the springs any day!
.
It keeps popping out of auto "WHY"
the 96 cadillac has a computer and sensors that control the ride of the cadillac you have a senor going out etc.. you can use your dash to tell you what is wrong it gives and stores all codes for each system , you use the warm and cool buttons to navigate thru the system this is what techs use to fix the car it tells them everything and i mean everthing you can overide and disable systems using the buttons on the dash,,
97 deville theft system problem
There are several ways to fix the secondary air injection system in a 2005 Chevrolet trailblazer. The most common fix is; changing the air filter.
open rear hatch and open jack compartment on left side. turn off air ride switch for about 1 hour and take a drive. this should reset the system and you can turn the switch back on. to keep this from happenning, always turn off this switch before jacking the explorer off the ground.
release the pressure that are in the air shocks. then when u start the car let the vacum ( that runs the air pump in ur car ) for about 10 mins. let air ride rise and sit level
It is very expensive to totally redo the air stuff in your suspension system, but I think you can switch the air stuff out for a suspension system that does not need a computer and stuff. I have heard of a company call Strutmasters. You should check them out! Strutmasters.com I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville, and I had a big problem with my cars suspension. I found out that Cadillac dealers want anywhere from $3000 to $4500 to fix it! I could not sink that much into my car. So I called Strutmasters.com and they fixed my Deville for around $800! They had less expensive options, but this one was a complete fix for my entire suspension! I am very happy with the outcome!
You start by identifying the problem through diagnosis. You have to determine if it's suspension components, the air supply, or electronic components causing the problem, then you proceed accordingly.
The best way is to replace the "Air Suspension" with replacement Spring Conversion, found at http://www.americanairsuspension.com/ This site will ship the parts to you, and either you install, or have a smaller mechanic install.
