You start by diagnosing. Have you checked your relays and fuses? Do that first. After you do that, check to ensure that you're getting power to the W/W motor. If not, check to see if you have power at the switch. If so, check the switch for continuity and replace it if it doesn't have it. If it does, then you're looking at a wire fault between the switch and the motor. If it doesn't…
Windshield wiper arm on a 2002 Chevrolet Impala flops around. Is it stripped or is there a nut i could tighten?
Your nut has come loose - but your wiper transmission is going to look stripped. Simple fix --- remove the nut and the wiper arm. You have to diagnose it first. With key on and wiper switch on, listen carefully, if you do not hear an electric motor running check the fuse. If the fuse is good and the wiper motor is receiving power and ground, the wiper motor assembly is probably bad. If you hear a motor running but nothing is moving, the wiper transmission assembly is stripped or the linkage is loose and came apart.
Your wipers on your Saturn will not shut off when engine is running but when you turn car off and turn key in the on with not starting you can turn on and off your wipers?
Most likely you will need to replace the wiper motor. If you can hear the motor when you turn the wipers on, then you will need to replace the wiper transmission. The wiper transmission is a link that attaches to the motor and the wiper arm. Both are located on the firewall usually under the cowl panel. (the panel between the hood and the windshield)
