There are many readily available baits out there that work well & are available in gardening depts. If you want to treat for them then any product with metaldehyde is what you're looking for. Deadline pellets is a good one & works like gangbusters. Beware rats love snails. You could also cut back on the water with some results.
One of two ways are what I use and no snail problems.
First is: Salt. Sprinkle salt around all the plants and wet areas. As they crawl across they will get the salt on there bottom and they will wilt up and die. It is also good for the roots.
Second: Stale beer in a container with a cover on it. The snails are attracted to the scent of beer and will crawl in and drown themselves. This works great anywhere around the parameter of the house period.
I really dont understand why anyone would want to get rid of snails and slugs, because they hardly move or do anything. Then again, the slime trails can be a bit of a hassle. So to get rid of these slimy creatures, put salt on them. The salt will melt them and they will eventually evaporate into the air. I know it seems like a repugnant procedure, but it is quite effective. There's your answer.
SALT but leave them alone there not that bad
you can also use pencil sharpenings or bits of plastic bags. get the re-using mood going ya know
Chemicals like salt, and other acids kill snails. I don't like it that snails are so fragile, but god chooses who dies, how they die, and when they will die. I love snails!!!!!
