If a person doesn't want to share information, then by trying to get information from them you risk either forcing them to do something they don't want to do - such as giving you personal information about themselves that they'd rather keep private - or having them ask you to mind your own business, or eventually even causing them to be rude to you.
Unless you have a very good reason for wanting to know something another person prefers not to share - and your own need to know doesn't count as a good reason - then you'll be much happier getting on with your own life and trying not to worry too much about what other people do.
You might feel better if you remind yourself that if their crush turns out to be a real romance everyone will soon know, and if it passes quickly then it didn't matter, did it?

∙ 11y agosome secrets are things that people don't want to tell others because they're too personal or traumatic to share. However there are many secrets that people keep just to appear mysterious or play the game of keeping it from you.
There's no specific way of doing this but you've probably just got to trick them out of it or make some good guesses, however if you think it's a personal or traumatic secret then I suggest leaving it alone, they want to keep it to themselves and that's fine, who knows anyway that sort of understanding may gain you their trust and they may even want to then share it with you.
It's key to remember that them not telling you a secret doesn't mean they don't trust/like you, they just don't want to share this fact with people, hence the secrecy.

I wouldn't be too surprised about this happening because your friend has to deal with both the committment to you and to her friend.
