Use a screwdriver between caliper and front of piston to squeeze piston back, remove caliper via two bolts on rear inside of caliper. Slide caliper away from rotor and support to ensure you don't damage the hyd. hose. Remove pads from caliper, fit new ones same way. re-fit caliper.

I believe that caliper is held with 10mm bolts. Remove caliper, then caliper mounting frame, then rotor will come off.
remove the 2 18mm bolts off the caliper bracket, remove caliper, slide off rotor

Remove brake caliper and then caliper mounting frame . Rotor is now free.

first remove tires from vehicle then remove calipers then you can replace break pads on both sides of vehicle
You need to remove the wheel, the caliper and the caliper mount. After you do that you can remove the caliper.
To replace the brake pads on a 96 Grand Am, three tools will be needed. First, a C-Clamp, then a hex key to remove the caliper bolts, and a screwdriver to work the caliper free.
Jack-up car, remove the wheel/tire. remove the two bolts thru the caliper and carefully move caliper out of the way - Don't kink hose, hang caliper from the hose, or loosen/remove hose. Brake disc will come off, can replace it, or turn it if not too bad.
You need a 15 mm regular wrench.
