you must disassemble the interior-evacuate and recover the "freon"- r134a- and removoe the center console and dash. then you have access to the hvac assembly. disconnect heater hoses and remove hvac plenum to access heater core. labor time is about 6 hours "shop time", so unless you are really skilled allow 2 days as a d-i-y job or just have a good mechanic replace it for you. as a 16 year ase master tech, dash work can be a nightmare for the unskilled, and mistakes can turn a tricky but do-able repair into a vehicle that never works correctly again. good luck, and yes, i t's a good car despite the heater core- I'd go awead with the repair if you want to ask anything else call 919 638 5341
