cadillac catera replace valve cover gasket 1997
i am going to change the valve cover gasket on my 97 cadillac catera, what do i need to remove and do? Is it hard?
well not for how but cadillac cateras were only made from 1997 to 2001
this is a truly evil job, its under the intake manifold and the cover has a tube made onto it that is just the devil to fit best left to the dealer
Rocker cover gaskets need to be replaced.
The 1998 Cadillac dashboard fuse is a 30 amp fuse. The fuse can be found in the fuse box. The location of the fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.

To replace the valve cover, you will need to break the gasket and the o-rings. The gasket prevents oil from leaking.
You have to remove the center vent, where a screw is located holding part of the instrument cluster in. The procedure is not complicate but describing how to do it is. The other screws are in sight, and the steering column cover has to be removed as well. Once you get the cluster out replace all the lights, because if one has gone out, others are not far behind.
Use a 1/4" drive ratchet and extension. run the extension up the hole in the center of the filter cover. The filter is a replaceable cartridge with a gasket not a spin on.
