The axle assembly has to be removed before removing the nut on top of the ball joint. I have a tool that I use to press the ball joint out and press the new one in. Not a fun job for a 71 y.o. person

It depends upon the variant of the Frontier but usually, if I am not mistaken, I think here in the Philippines we have a 215/70 R15 for the lower variants of the Nissan Frontier.
As far as I know in Nissan and Toyota trucks the ball joints are not compressible (can't be taken out) unfortunately the whole arm needs replaced the lower drivers side is about $362 for the part sans labor.

You can't service the lower ball joints by themselves. You must replace the entire lower control arm.
You can replace just the ball joints on the lower control arms , but the upper ball joints come with a new control arm
If you need to replace the lower ball joints, check your owners manual for instructions. The manual should show you the location and how to complete the repair.

on the upper ball joints just remove the four bolts on the upper control arm and use a picker fork to remove the balljoint from the steering knuckle. for the lower ball joints you have to remove the axle then repeat the same steps for the uppers
