Buy a chiltons or haynes manual. There is a lot of linkage involved that must be taken apart and put back together correctly. Also, depending on the engine, there is a particular procedure that must be followed in order to clear the booster while removing it. If you are not very familar with performing this type of maintenance, you are best off taking it somewhere and spending the $$. Its better to spend a couple of hundred bucks then to mess something up (especially since latter repairs would cost you more... not to mention the consequences if you screw something up).
Keep in mind that they make different boosters and master cylinders depending on the engine sizes and whether or not you have traction control, go to a reputable parts store. If they don't ask whether or not you have traction control they may be ordering the wrong part--beware!!

how do you change a brake booster valve to a 1998 Pontiac transport
The power brake booster of a vehicle is replaced by removing the fluid reservoir, unbolting the booster from the firewall, and disconnecting it from the brake pedal. A new booster can then be connected and bolted into place.
I have to replace my brake booster on my 99 vw beetle elite. I need the instructions on how to do this. Any ideas. Thanks
You can fix the brake booster switch in your 1991 Jaguar by replacing the brake booster switch. In most cases when the brake booster switch does not function properly the only way to fix it is to replace it.

need to find out how to replace a power brake booster in a 2002 Chevy silverado 2500 HD
replace brake booster
no...replace as a unit
No, the brake booster operates off of vacuum not electricity. If the booster isn't working then check the vacuum line going from the intake manifold to the booster. If the line is ok and not leaking then you need to replace the booster.
It is probably the brake lights that are on due to a misinstalled or damaged brake light switch.
The brake booster on a 1990 Honda Civic is held in place with several mounting bolts and the brake master cylinder. Remove all the mounting bolts, vacuum lines and the master cylinder. Go underneath the dash and remove the plunger from the brake pedal. The booster will fall out. Replace the unit.
