You'll need a special tool designed to wedge in there and loosen the belt tensioner. I'm not sure what it's called. A GM service center should know.

It's not easy to loosen either. I'd just as soon have a pro do it. I even have spark plugs jammed in there that have to be replaced by a pro. Who designs these things???
