well i just did it on a 2002 civic you have to remove the little cover that's under the dash where the release is and unscrew the two bolts holding the cable...then remove the left fender i counted 5 bolts and like a dozen of those black clips that hold the splash guard to the fender, also the bumper but not all just enough to get in to a bolt that's underneath the headlight then just unscrew the bolts to the headlight you don't need to remove it just loosen it so the fender comes out). then unscrew the the latch at the front of the car so you can unhook the cable...after that is pretty much self explanatory
