You do not have to reset the asd relay. It is controlled by the engine computer automatically.
crank sensor wire probable it's making contact with some ground check all the sensor wires with de engine on and shake them carefully
Chrysler, with its infinite wisdom, has decided to make an ASD relay circuit that will disable engine in the event there is a crash... or bad sensor... or shorted wire... or the wind blows... etc.
The auto shutdown relay is controlled by the engine computer. You need to find out why it isn't actuating the relay. The first place to start is to check for codes. --->>> A relay is good or faulty, you cannot reset it, just replace it. An 1996 caravan has NOT ASD relay at all!
Automatic fuel pump shut off needs to be reset I could not locate a reset switch and from the manual I think it has a fuel pump relay and asd relay do i need to replace these
No Fuel Or IgnitionThere's not one on the ESI if you are not getting fuel check the fuel pump under the back seat or if that's not it check the crankshaft or camshaft sensor if they are broke it will activate the asd relay which will cut your fuel and power to the ignition coil pack.
Welcome to the club. There's a million things that can cause this problem, cam sensor, crank sensor, coil, distributor, ECM, ASD relay just for starters.
Dodge uses relays, the ASD relay will be on the firewall.
The ASD relay is under the hood in the fuse/relay box by the battery. Look inside the lid and you'll see a diagram of what your looking for.
In the fuse box, left side of the vehicle behind the battery.
drivers side under hood mounted on fender well
No the trans wouldn't cause it not to run. Unless it was a bad Safety Switch/ Backup Light... if that goes bad the engine wouldn't crank at all... Does it have spark and is it receiving fuel. If no spark check the coil, if the coil is getting no power check the ASD Relay... for Fuel it could still be the ASD, or Fuel Pump, or the Fuel Relay.
