How to start a 1984 240 series that has been sitting for 6 months?

I have a 1987 240 DL that sat for maybe a year or more. This is what I did and it started the first Crank; didn't even pump the Gas. Check that Battery is full Charge and has a good connection, mine was bad I replaced it. Then check all the Belts, must be tight and in good shape. Replace the belts if not sure or if you see one or more has damage-frays. Inspect the Air Filter, mine was black and has some leafs in it, I just replaced it. Then check the Fluid Levels- I.E. Power Steering, Coolant and Oil. I did a Oil Change and put on a New filter. I do not see the need for a Oil Additive. If the Gas is low, fill and add a Gas Treatment. I used 4 gallons of 89 octain and then 6 gallons of 93 octain. One bottle of Gas Treatment for 12 gallons of Fuel. If the tank is full check online for best Gas Treatment for stail gas. Standard Gas Treatment might be all that is needed. Almost there, now check that the spark plugs and wires are good. I used dielectric grease for all the connections on the Distributor Cap and Plugs. Check that the Spark Plugs are not burned or have any obstructions on tips- the tips that go into the engine. Replace as needed, I just replaced the Plugs, very low cost. I sprayed a few shots of Starting fluid into the airbox through the filter, DO NOT SPRAY A LOT OR THE ENTIRE CAN! Very Little at short sprays. Then try to start the car. Mine started right up, I then closed the Air Box. Let it run for 15 to 20 minutes, watch the gauges or for warning lights. Turn off the car if the Temp goes over the half mark. Mine did this, changed the Thermostat and put in new coolant. Runs great.
