on the tundra faq they said this is the same engine and to pull the battery lead for 10 min. to clear check engine light. they said if the problem still exist the light will come back on within 100 miles.
Autozone parts store will read the trouble codes for free but will not clear the light. Other parts stores also provide this service for free. Call some in your area and ask?
good luck jerry
MAINT REQD is different from an actual MIL. The MAINT REQD light is simply a timer for oil changes.
Here's how you get reset the MAINT REQD light:
1) put the key to the ON position
2) press the mileage reset button on your cluster so it shows total mileage (not trip)
3) put the key to the OFF position
4) press and hold down the mileage reset button, leave it pressed
5) put the key to the ON position
6) wait until the mileage shows 000000 and you can stop pressing the ODO button
If that doesn't work, consult this

Put some air in the tires.
What year ?
Yes, the key must be in the position ON, but do not crank.
You will need to take it into a mechanic. They will be able to check out your vehicle and then they can turn off the light.
Set it to trip A and hold reset turn ignition off then turn ignition on and maintenance light will flash and your done.
same as a 2005 odometer OS on turn key off hold reset turn key on loght flashes then turn off
With an automobile diagnostic computer, the mechanic will clear it for you, but it will cost you. Not much though.
Read the owners manual. It has step-by-step instructions.
Check engine light or required maintenance light. Procedure for resetting required maintenance light just answered. Check engine light requires an OBD II to determine problem and turn the light off.
it's in the manual for my 2007- has you go to the trip odometer for trip A and hold the button in as you turn the key.
you should be able to clear it by removing the negative battery terminal for a minute or so. though hopefully you have repaired the problem that caused the light to turn on in the first place!
i have engine light staying on in my 2005 toyota yaris how do i turn off the light
