Should be a button by the emergency brake opposite of the tailgate window roll
down button.
1997 4runner...that's mine. Press the ECT switch on the console. From familyzoo My 4 runner is a 92 and the button is just below, and between , the shift levers, between the seats. Push it to reengage the ECT. Light on means the ECT is no longer engaged. Jonathon Press the button that is clearly labeled "ECT". When you want to accelerate quickly, press it again (so the light on the dash is illuminated).
Toggle the POWER button to the left of the gear shifter.
mine is a button on middle council, by emergency brake. says ect
unplug the negative wire from the battery for a few minutes. if this doesnt work it has to be cleard with a scaner(shop)!
press the button that says ECT PWR ON/OFF !! It's on the centre console (close to the gearstick)
Push the button on the left side of the dash.
It means you have pressed the ECT button which changes the transmission shift pattern. Press it again to turn it off.
The PWR ECT changes the electronic shift points of the vehicle auto transmission/gearbox provide more power/torque and less economy. How it does is to hold each gear to a higher RPM. For example when you drive normally with PWR ECT turn off the vehicle auto transmission/gearbox would change/shift the gears from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd at 3000 RPM. When you drive with PWR ECT turn on it will change/shift the gears at 4500RPM.
ECT power is Electronically Controlled Timing. What this does when the switch is engaged is activate what is now known as variable valve timing. Basically this means that instead of relying on mechanical timing components the "brain" takes over. As previously stated the car will shift at higher RPM, you could say this is like a sport mode that allows the car to produce maximum power.
Sirs I own an 2000 Toyota RAB4 and my ECT PWR light just came on, what do I need to do? is it ok to keep on driving it? or? Thanks Carlo Bello
ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. When you push the button in, there should be a light on the dash that says "ECT POWER". This changes the normal shift times (based on engine vacuum, rpm, and throttle position) to a later point. This means simply that the engine rpms will go higher before shifting to a higher gear when you're accelerating. It helps build speed more quickly but uses more gas to do so.
the fuse regulates the voltage that comes back from the alternator to the battery and system without it you push to much power to the system and it will turn on your battery light and possibly blow your battery and ect....
Nobody knows what you mean by the word "certain".....Please check your spelling.. What does it look like, what's it next to,,,ect...
