The enslavement of African Americans in the United States ended in 1865 when the 13th amendment was ratified. However during the 1930's- 40's the Holocaust took place where 11 million people were killed because of one mans opinions, his persuasion over the entire German people caused the Holocaust because they felt that the Jewish were trying to take over, due to that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.

And although slavery is no longer happening in America it can still be found in other countries.
