Militarily, the Vietnam War DID give rise to the best jet aircraft in the world: F14 Tomcats, F15 Eagles, F16 Falcons, F117 Stealth Fighters, B1 & B2 Bombers, and today's F22 Raptor. All of these superior fighting machines were born from the combat experience gained in the skies over North Vietnam by such US jets as the F4 Phantom, F105 Thunderchief, F104 Starfighter, and Firebee UAVs...not to mention U2's, SR-71's, and B52 Stratofortress's.
