We were threatened by Japan because of Pearl Harbor. We were threatened by Japan because of Pearl Harbor. We were threatened by Japan because of Pearl Harbor.
Americas presence in Guam and the Phillippines and its support of China.
Seriously you folks need to buff up on your history. The US was concerned about the Japanese acquiring defenseless territories in the Far East. The Japanese “movement” was eerily similar to Germany’s take over of much of Europe. Plus there were other issues rumbling (the US snubbed Japan - yellow racism - and Japan’s anger had been mounting for years). When the US moved their Navy to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Japan was extremely concerned the US was closing in on them, although they were 4,000 miles away. So Japan planned the secret attack on Pearl Harbor so the US wouldn’t attack them first. Most US navy ships and 300+ US planes were decimated.
Nobody really, Japan first threatened China and was killing the Chinese but then America helped China and had a war.
Japan

By 'us' I assume you mean the USA. Japan did not threaten anyone with nuclear weapons, it was only the USA who had them. The Japanese capitulated after the USA dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I believe Japan surrendered because we threatened them with nuclear weapons.
