Now if you are doing everything that you are supposed to and all this went wrong, then I would call your boss and explain to him what happened. Ask him if it is okay to offer the customer a free or discounted Pizza so that you do not lose your business.
I believe that the best way to deal with the customer in this situation is to not get nervous. Remember that the customer is always right and apologize. Explain what happen in as few words as possible, and apologize again. If they are still upset and you see that things are starting to escalate.... offer them a free or discounted pizza. This will have built up great reporre and you will leave the customer with a smile.
