I'm doing an English degree at a top British uni. I find myself hating my studies and performing poorly even though I'm normally a straight a student. I could transfer to Creative Writing. Should i?

Your degree in English will give you more options after graduation than a degree in Creative Writing. If you have an interest in writing, you can still pursue it without changing majors. It sounds as though you might be depressed, perhaps you are working too hard and might benefit from a lighter schedule. These are some of the best years of your life, enjoy them, but continue to work hard and get good grades. This will look good on future job applications as well as post-graduate studies if you chose to pursue an advanced degree. Barney9
