Wheat is actually entirely different than barley, but yes it does contain gluten. Gluten is a type of protein found in barley, rye, or wheat. It is best to stay away from all of these especially if you have a gluten intolerance or have Celiac Disease like me.

It is also important that you completely avoid oats and food starches unless the product is certified gluten free.

You can have rice, corn, tapioca, and quinoa products though, and they help tremendously!

I definitely recommend brands such as Ian's, Amy's, and thinkThin snacks. Just remember to always check labels because ingredients can change on a whim!

Please be careful of ice creams, sauces, salad dressings, and marinades! The fruit an veggie isle are your best friends when grocery shopping =).
