I got a new guinea pig for Christmas and she doesn't like me to hold her why is this?

Well this could be for many reasons. Like humans Guinea pigs have different personalities, some are just shy. One of my females never lets me hold her. Another reason could be her cage, a guinea pig who has a house or something to hid in is always going to be more shy. However having a house give your cavy a since of security.

Well if she doesn't like rodents, guinea pigs don't really look like them. If that helps. But problem is guinea pigs can't really live full time outside.

Actually rabbits an guinea pigs are fine together. But maybe the female guinea pig is felling lonely being the only kind in the cage. Or maybe its because the rabbit just doesn't like the guinea pig. If it's possible you can try getting another female guinea pig or separating the the guinea pig and rabbits.

What about if you hold a guinea pig to much?
Holding a guinea pig allot is good especially if it is young so when it is older it can be handled. Dont hold your guinea pig TO much becasue it will make it dislike being around humans. When a quinea pig is older and you hold it allot i dont think it will matter to much. but sont overdo it like every 1 hour or 2 hours just do it atmost 4 times a day.
