I cannot definitely answer your question as I have no data on those specific batteries, however did you allow the batteries to fully charge before trying to use them? Many modern high capacity rechargeable batteries come with a small charge at the time of sale and if used in that state they will be permanently damaged. To prevent damaging them always fully charge them before using them (and this first charge will take several hours).
The Energizer lithium batteries are exceptional for digital camera: basic cameras can take two G's of pictures before needing to be replaced.
a police helicoptor can fly for 20 minutes
It sounds like your batteries won't hold their charge and need replacing, but before you do that, discharge them completely , for example by putting them in a torch with a bulb and then leaving it on until they are flat. (I am assuming you are using AA batteries). Then recharge them and see if it is any better. If not, get new ones - I would suggest you buy "Eneloop" brand AA batteries as they are very low-discharge : standard NMH rechargeables batteries lose their charge in a month when they are not even in the camera, unless you keep them in a cool place such as in the butter compartment in the refrigerator. Try it out.
Kerosene was a common fuel used in torches before batteries.

Consumers should remember to always charge Everready NiMH Energizer Rechargeable batteries before the first use. Use an Energizer Smart Charger designed specially for NiMH batteries, as these charges protect the cells from overcharging and undercharging. Some Smart Chargers will charge Energizer batteries in as little as fifteen minutes. To charge the batteries, insert them into the charger and look for the LED light. Most models will hold steady, flash, or turn off to determine the state of the battery charge.
That battery model will give about 1.5 hours of battery life before needing to be recharged.

It all depends on the brand of laptop that you have purchased and the type of battery that it uses. Your battery hours range between 3 and 7 hours depending on how good the batteries life is for that particular laptop system.
