I'm assuming cooling (rad) fans? Try tapping the fan motor housing to see if it will start. You can try unplugging the temperature sensor and see if the fans come on. Also you can try running 2 jumper wires to the fan plug from the battery and power it up directly to see if it works. Usual causes are a bad relay, temp sensor, or fan motor. Could also be an electrical (wiring/ground/ecm) issue.
hook wires from your 12 v battery straight to the fan motor and see if it comes on.
The cooling fans on a 2002 Grand Am GT might not be working because of a problem with a fuse. There is also a temperature sensor in the engine that tells the fans when to come on. This sensor may be bad.
It is in the black box on the left sie of the engine near the back, it should have a red cover over the wires and the cover to access the relay swithes snaps on. I am trying to find where i can buy the relay switch, i need one for my fans also because they don't kick on causin my rendevous to overheat
Low coolant? Radiator dirty or plugged? Bad thermostat? Bad water pump? Cooling fans not working? Bad radiator cap?

The Sensor for the fans is located on the upper right side of the radiator, ( the Passenger side).
if both fans quit working, it could be as simple as the relay fuse going out. have your mechanic check these fuses.
