The only negative reaction you might have is from pool water being unbalanced. When the pH is low the water is corrosive and may cause damage to copper pipes. There are no "reactions" with chlorine.

Chlorine Gas is bubbled through a calcium bromide Solution what type of reaction is made?

Chlorine is a more reactive halogen than bromine, therefore, when chlorine gas is bubbled through a calcium bromide solution, the chlorine will take the place of the bromine. This is called an anionic single replacement (displacement) reaction. Cl2(g) + CaBr2(aq) --> Br2(l) + CaCl2(aq)

How much water is lost when water is recycled through pump and automatic chlorine dispenser of swimming pool?

None unless you have a leak.

How do you clear up the chemical reaction caused when mixing baquacil and chlorine shock?

Baquacil makes a product called Chlorine Neurtalizer that can be used to remove the Chlorine, it may take several days for the green to filter through.

What do we use salt to?

Salt is put into swimming pools so that the water from the pool can be run through a salt water chlorinator which produces chlorine to disinfect the pools water.

What is a chlorine generator?

Many people are choosing to remodel their swimming pool systems to add saltwater chlorination. With a saltwater pool system, a chlorine generator is added to the pool's filtration system. The water circulates through the chlorinator, where salt produces a chlorine gas that dissolves into the water. That chlorine in turn, breaks down and turns into salt, cycling the process all over again.

What are the side effects of swimming in a pool daily?

your hair would probably go straggly and unhealthy from all the chlorine in the pool. chlorine stays in your hair even after u wash it, so use a swimming cap if u can to minimize the damage.

What is the type of reaction of this 2 NaCl plus F2 equals 2NaF plus Cl2?

This would be an oxidation-reduction reaction (or a single replacement reaction). On the left side of the equation, chlorine (Cl) has a negative charge, because it is bonded to sodium (Na). After it goes through the reaction, it is replaced by fluorine (F), making it Cl2 on the product side. As a atom that is not bonded, its charge is 0. The charge on Cl went from -1 to 0, so it is oxidized. The other anion, F, is reduced (the charge decreases from 0 to -1.

Salt water pool systems vs chlorine which is better?

A salt water pool is a chlorine pool. The difference is that in a normal fresh water pool you have to add the chlorine as it is required. In the case of the salt water pool salt is added to the pool which is int urn run through a chlorine generator that is installed on the pipe leading from the filter to the pool. The chlorine generator electronically separates chlorine gas out of the salt water which then dissolves into the water automatically maintaining chlorine levels. The adidion of salt to the water makes it more pleasant to swim in and you are spared having to handle and store chlorine at home. but the problem is you are still swimming in Chlorine and now you are also swimming in sodium.

If chlorine gas is bubbled through an aqueous solution of sodium iodide the result is elemental iodine and aqueous sodium chloride solution what kind of reaction took place?

Single-replacement

Why does the color of aqueous potassium bromide change when chlorine gas is bubbled into it?

Chlorine is a stronger oxidizer than elemental Bromine. So, when yellowish chlorine gas is bubbled through the Bromide solution, a red colour is formed which is Bromine. Chlorine oxidizes Bromide ions to elemental Bromine while itself is reduced to Chloride ions. So, the total reaction is: Cl2 + Br- ----> Br2 + Cl-
