There should be an alignment pin on each side of the transmission/motor edge. Sometimes these can be stuck. A flat blade screwdriver can be used to separate the transmission from the motor. GENTLY tap it between the two.

There should be 3 or 4 bolts holding your starter motor to your vehicle... take those off. Remove the wires going into the starter. Then you should have something going into your firewall. Do your best to jimmy it out of the hole, and your starter should come free. Sound simple, but it may take you anywhere from 10 min to 3 hours. OH.. to find your starter, follow the + cable from your battery.
