I have an intermittent starting problem with your 91 blazer When i knock on the gas tank enough times it seems to work. Loose witring to or at the fuel pump Please help.?

Do 1985 Volvo 740 have a known problem that causes it not to starting every so often when it runs fine before and after The cars mechanicly and electrical is fine it just wont state some times?
Intermittent Starting ProblemJust started having this problem with my 1987 740 Turbo. My mechanic suggested I check the fuel pump relay first. If anyone has any suggestions please share them. Thanks,GregI agree with your mechanic, start there. The fuel pump relay is probably starting to be intermittent. Anyway, it's a good thing to have a spare one with you. If it's solve your problem, keep the old one with you close the fuse holder maybe it's will save you a towing in the future...

The starter but watch the bolts break real easy. You can check the relay first. But the starters have a bad rep. It is in the solinoid or the bendix I can't tell but 2 years seem like the limit.But Please check all else first mabey I just had rough luck with starters. check all connections,grounds relay wires.
