I have had two baby water turtles for two months and I have seen the one turtle eat a gravel rock twice so far even after I feed him WHAT CAN I DO?

i just got a baby river cooter and from all my experience over the years i can tell u when they eat a rock or the gravel it means
1. He/She is neglected or under fed
2. He/she is lonely
and in ur case i assume.
Increased activity, agitation, and lack of appetite in early summer may be the cause
have u been making him do to much like playing with him on land it can shock them and will get them well to be frank CRAZYI hope i helped

A baby turtle can go out of water for about 5 minutes. No more than that or it will suffocate. Baby turtles shouldn't be taken out a lot, only about 1-3 times a day not even! I've taken my turtle on road trips from Georgia to NYC, and from Georgia to Washington state. She fits inside of a 6" x 6" glass vase. When I checked into motels for the night, I filled her vase up like normal so she could eat and defecate. She showed no signs of distress by being out of the water for hours. Is a box turtle a good pet?

Not to mention hey are absolutely adorable They make great pets. They're easy to take of too. Give them food twice a day,change the tank water twice a week,and give them a diffrent peice of lettuce everyday. You can find the turtles free, but the tank is about 200 $.
