I have iTunes on 2 laptops but can't access the old one. Both have same iTunes account and mainly I just want my purchased songs. Is there a way to get the old library transferred to my new laptop?

yes. in the newest version there is a thing called home sharing. type in the same thing on both computers and you can wirelessly send the bought things on one computer to another. you can just copy any free stuff you have downloaded off of cds and things straight ont the second comp using a flash drive.
